Christians Plan Day Of Prayer For Children Around The World

San Jose, Costa Rica | 29.05.2004 | LAMNS/APD | International

Christians around the world will pause on June 5, the World Wide Day of Prayer for Children at Risk, to remember children on the streets, children abused by their families, children serving in armies, children forced into prostitution, children who are malnourished, children everywhere who need the help of others who care.

Worldwide, Christians will gather in churches, schools and at home to pray for these children and seek the Lord's guidance in ministering to them.

There will be prayer events in 26 dioceses in India; a prayer gathering in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, organized by the Salvation Army; a city-wide event in Ensenada, Mexico; a gathering at the Four Square Gospel Church in Lagos, Nigeria and prayer sessions in North America from a Salvation Army centre in North Carolina to a Presbyterian church in Arizona to a parade in Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada.

"There's still time to let your church know about the World Wide Day of Prayer. to get together friends to pray on June 5th, to register events you are planning on the website and to pray," said LAM missionary Greg Burch who works with street children in Caracas Venezuela.
