Thailand chosen for 2008 World Evangelical Alliance General Assembly

The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), based in Vancouver, Canada, announced today, that its next General Assembly will be held in Thailand, October 27-31, 2008.

"The General Assembly of the World Evangelical Alliance meets every four years to endorse WEA programs and brings together representatives of various regional and national evangelical alliance and fellowships," reports Geoff Tunnicliffe, WEA International Director. These WEA programs are then carried out through the office of the International Director and the staff of WEA's ministry units – commissions and ministry departments -- with assistance from affiliate members.

Previous General Assemblies have been held 1997 in Hong Kong , 2001 in Kuala Lumopur (Malaysia), and 2004 in Vancouver (Canada).

The World Evangelical Fellowship is a network of churches in 128 nations that have each formed an evangelical alliance and over 100 international organizations joining together to give a worldwide identity, voice and platform to more than 420 million evangelical Christians.
